Friend of the Center Teresa Ghilarducci was recently quoted by the Washington Post in a new piece on retirement finances. Entitled “The New Reality of Old Age in America,” the article explores the decline of retirement savings and how older workers are being forced to prolong their stay in the work force.
According to Ghilarducci: “There is no part of the country where the majority of middle-class older workers have adequate retirement savings to maintain their standard of living in their retirement […] People are coming into retirement with a lot more anxiety and a lot less buying power.”
