Please join the New School and New York University for this year’s Global Histories of Capital Conference. This year’s theme is “Global Histories of Capitalism: New Perspectives on the Global South”, and features such speakers as the Heilbroner Center’s own Julia Ott, alongside others from New York University, The New School, and elsewhere. The keynote address, “‘To make ourselves the masters and possessors of nature’: Dutch Capitalism and the World-Ecological Revolution of the Long Seventeenth Century,” will be delivered by the luminary Jason W. Moore.
This year’s conference is presented by the New School and New York University History departments, alongside the Heilbroner Center for Capitalism Studies, the India-China Institute (TNS), the Center for Humanities, the Provost’s Global Research Initiative, and the Abu Dhabi Institute (NYU).
