Professor Jeffrey Winters kicks off a new semester at the Heilbroner Center with his talk, “Oligarchy and the Politics of Wealth Defense.” Join us on Monday, February 29th at 6:00pm in The Orozco Room, 66 West 12th Street, room 712. The event is free and open to the public. Professor Winters’ talk is the latest installment in our “Money in Politics” series.
Jeffrey Winters is Professor of Political Science at Northwestern University. Professor Winters specializes on oligarchs and elites spanning a range of historical and contemporary cases, including ancient Athens and Rome, medieval Europe, the United States, as well as Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. His 2011 Cambridge Press book, Oligarchy, won APSA’s 2012 Luebbert Award for the Best Book in Comparative Politics. Professor Winters is the founder and Director of the Equality Development and Globalization Studies (EDGS) program at Northwestern.
