The Historical Studies department with the Heilbroner Center is proud to welcome Michael Zakim, Professor of History at Tel Aviv University, for his talk on Accounting for Capitalism: The World the Clerk Made.
Zakim is the author of Ready-Made Democracy, a political history of men’s dress, and Accounting for Capitalism: The World the Clerk Made. He has also edited, together with Gary J. Kornblith, Capitalism Takes Command: The Social Transformation of Nineteenth-Century America, and, most recently, a special issue of the Journal of the Early Republic devoted to “Knowledge and its Uses,” which includes his essay on the “Political Geometry of Statistical Tables.”
