Jussara Raxlen

Jussara dos Santos Raxlen is a Doctoral Candidate in Sociology at The New School for Social Research. At the intersection of politics and the sociology of knowledge, her research focuses on the practices, concepts, institutions and actors involved in the social organization of the paid labor of care for the elderly in the home to explore the contested terrain on which a particular care regime rests. In addition to the Heilbroner Center, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Graduate Institute for Design, Ethnography and Social Thought (GIDEST) have also supported Jussara’s research.
